Melanie Jacobs Stathis is a community builder, nonprofit leader, and lifelong 19th Ward resident running for Alderman to strengthen safety, opportunity, and responsive local government across the ward.
For years, Melanie has brought people together across civic, nonprofit, and business spaces to solve complex challenges with empathy and accountability. Her work has focused on connecting neighbors, expanding access to resources, and building systems that are more transparent and more human.
A mom and active member of the Beverly/Morgan Park community, Melanie understands what families need: safe streets, thriving local businesses, strong schools, and city services that work when you call. She believes local leadership should be visible, accessible, and rooted in listening.
Melanie is running to build on the ward’s proud history while preparing it for the next chapter, one defined by collaboration, fairness, and results.
